Education System

Leaders within the Montgomery County school system gladly accept responsibility for educating students at the highest level possible. We believe that all students can learn a rigorous and challenging curriculum that best prepares them for the future. Six elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, one alternative school and specialized programs are in place to prepare the children of Montgomery County for the future.

Continuing education is available through Montgomery Community College (MCC). This accredited college offers 25 different programs of study including basic skills, occupational, associate and pre-baccalaureate degree programs. Students can complete a two-year Associate in Arts degree at MCC and transfer to any of the schools within the North Carolina University System with junior status.
