The Aberdeen Carolina & Western Railway is a shortline (regional) railroad in central North Carolina. Our rail corridor is known as the Carolina Route, and it connects with CSX Transportation in Aberdeen and Norwood, and also with Norfolk Southern in Charlotte and Gulf. Having interchanges with two big railroads is very uncommon among shortline railroads. This provides a competitive advantage for our customers, who avoid having only one railroad to choose from. In the long run, our customers save BIG on transportation costs. Our railroad also handles logistics for customers not located on our railroad but needing the efficiencies of rail; we have partnered with KAG Logistics for transloading material from rail to truck. In sum, our railroad stands out for the following reason:

1. dual class I railroad interchanges
2. around the clock service for our customers
3. great track infrastructure- our track is not in shambles like alot of small railroads
